A STORY IN THE FAMILY

Our history

The magical town of Cortona and the beautiful landscape of Tuscany, a healthy and harmonious lifestyle, our love for Naples and the great tradition of cooking freshly caught fish: these elements motivated us to start Cantanapoli in Cortona, the first local seafood restaurant, back in 1995.

For twenty-six years, Cantanapoli has been bringing the bounty of the sea to the dinner table. Naturally, the history of our restaurant is also inextricably tied to the history of the Sorrentino family, who have their roots in Torre del Greco. It all began with an idea: Mario, Giuseppe, Flora and Mina wanted to start a seafood restaurant in Cortona. Their decision was shaped by their passion and predilection for conviviality. In fact, for us, hospitality means knowing how to welcome guests, how to make our guests feel like an integral part of our history, so that we can share in both family values and traditions. We enjoy letting people into our lives. We want people to feel at home, “a casa,” in a familiar environment, a place where they can spend time with friends and enjoy pleasant moments together as well as a delicious sensorial experience, thanks to our special menu that includes a touch of magic.
